
Posillico, National Grid’s Remediation Contractor, continued with site mobilization and preparation activities, which included the delivery of additional interlocking steel sheet piles for the DNAPL Migration Barrier, steel beams for the base frame of the temporary fabric enclosure, the truck decontamination system, and silt fence, truck liners, and privacy screen construction materials. In addition, Posillico continued above-grade site clearing activities and the installation of the privacy screen along the fence line at the site perimeter. National Grid’s consulting engineers installed a portable community air monitoring program (CAMP) equipment and conducted background (i.e., baseline) measurements.
For the week of November 17, 2008 through November 21, 2008, Posillico is scheduled to continue the site mobilization and preparation activities. Additional deliveries are expected of interlocking steel sheet piles, temporary excavation shoring materials, construction support trailers, as well as truck liner, silt fence and privacy screen construction materials. In addition, above-grade site clearing activities, installation of the privacy screen along the fence line at the site perimeter, and installation of soil erosion and sediment control measures (i.e., silt fence) will continue. Posillico will commence the site utility mark-out surveys and the utility connections to the construction support trailers. National Grid’s consulting engineering will continue to monitor the site activities with portable CAMP equipment.
